Seaweed – the Skin Superfood from the deep sea. . .

The sun is out, it is summer time and our skin needs a lot of TLC. And, especially at this time of the year we all love going to the beach, whether it is to get a beautiful tan or have a relaxing evening walk by the sea. So I thought, why not get some inspiration from the humble sea around us and try a fun DIY mask for the face. So I decided to work with seaweed and try out something new. After a lot of trials I finally came up with this face mask which worked its magic on my skin and I hope it will on yours too.

But before we go on to the recipe, let’s get to know some interesting facts about seaweed.

Seaweed is –

  • High in proteins.
  • Draws out all the toxins and impurities away from your skin.
  • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles on your face.
  • Rich in skin essential amino acids.
  • Rich in macronutrients – potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium and copper.
  • It boosts collagen production too.

I am sure, after reading the above facts about seaweed, you would definitely want to try out a mask and explore the benefits first hand. So, here is a very simple mask for you to try out. It is fairly easy to make this mask and you can make it in a big quantity, as it is a dry mask powder, in which you would be required to add oils and other essentials at the time of using it.
