Morning Coffee Leftovers Scrub
This recipe is very easy, quick to make up and leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated. Coffee grounds are a great natural exfoliator to help remove dead skin cells.
- A clean container with lid or glass jar (use whatever you have lying around)
- Left over, used coffee grounds
- Olive oil (or any nice cooking oils such as sunflower, coconut, rapeseed)
Optional: Favorite essential oil or try a citrus oil for a wake up scrub.
Grab your jar and throw in 2-4 tablespoons of used coffee ground (best to wait until not too hot), add 1-2 tablespoons of oil to the jar and mix. You may want to adjust the amount of oil depending on the quantity of grounds. If you want to add essential oils do so now and mix again. Follow the essential oil bottles instructions regarding how many drops to use.
Mix and apply the scrub to your knees and elbows first and wash off in the shower. Pat skin dry. You can keep any leftover scrub in the jar, however use caution as this recipe contains no preservatives so don’t keep for too long.
Leftover Banana Glowing Face Mask
Bananas contain potassium and vitamins E and C which help moisturise and give the skin a glow!
- ½ -1 banana
- 2 x tablespoons of coconut milk
Optional extra 1 tablespoon of oats for exfoliation
Mash up the banana in bowl using a spoon or fork, add one tablespoon of milk at a time and mix into a paste. Add oats and mix again.
Apply to clean damp skin in circular motions and leave on for up to ten minutes
Remove with a clean damp cloth and warm water and pat skin dry.
Put any remaining mask in the compost bin as bananas turn brown when exposed to the air.
